As I predicted, I've been lax at keeping this blog current. However, the continued spread of White Nose Syndrome has curtailed my caving a bit.
During the past month or so, WNS has been confirmed in two Arkansas border states: Missouri and Tennessee. Virtually all caves on public lands in Arkansas have been closed so my research (and recreation) is limited to privately-owned caves. Fortunately, I have good relationships with several cave owners.
This is also the start of the summer research season. My colleague, Han Ong, and I share four students for the next eight weeks. Tomorrow is our first caving trip of the summer.
